Role Overview

The Vice President Workforce Identity and Directory Services serves as the primary owner of all Active Directory related infrastructure and strategy. This role leads the design, governance, and modernization of the enterprise identity platform across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The VP is responsible for developing long-term technology roadmaps, driving security best practices, and partnering with Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams to deliver scalable, resilient identity services aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary owner and point-of-contact for all Active Directory infrastructure, strategy, and operations across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead and execute a long-term technology roadmap to modernize the Active Directory environment, including forest and domain consolidation, AD tiering model implementation, strategic reduction and decommissioning of on-premises domain controllers, and accelerating workload migration from on-premises AD to Microsoft Entra ID.
• Architect and govern enterprise Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), DNS, and DHCP, PKI, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and security at scale.
• Drive the adoption and optimization of Microsoft Entra ID security features, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Identity Governance, Workload Identities, and Entra Permissions Management.
• Govern Entra ID external collaboration and application identity, including cross-tenant access policies, B2B guest account lifecycle, app registration and enterprise application management, API permission and consent policy governance, and service principal security and credential rotation.
• Manage hybrid Active Directory environments, including Azure AD Connect / Cloud Sync configuration, seamless SSO, pass-through authentication, and directory synchronization health monitoring.
• Design and enforce Group Policy architecture at scale, including GPO lifecycle management, security baselines, and policy inheritance strategies across complex OU structures.
• Establish and enforce identity security best practices, policies, and standards across the organization in alignment with zero trust principles and AD tiering models (Enhanced Security Admin Environment).
• Oversee Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, and certificate-based authentication protocols, driving migration away from legacy protocols toward modern authentication standards.
• Lead AD Forest and domain trust management, replication topology optimization, Sites and Services configuration, and schema extension governance.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure identity infrastructure meets regulatory and audit requirements, including SOX, NIST, and industry-specific mandates.
• Oversee incident response, disaster recovery, and root cause analysis for identity-related security events, AD replication failures, and service disruptions.
• Evaluate emerging identity technologies and industry trends including passwordless authentication, decentralized identity, and AI-driven threat detection to inform strategic planning and investment decisions.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on Active Directory and identity management, including at least 5 years in an architect or senior engineering capacity.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 from an identity and access management perspective, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams integration with Entra ID, M365 group and license management, app consent frameworks, service principals, and Microsoft 365 Defender for identity related threat detection.
• Deep fluency in authentication and federation protocols, including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, WS-Federation, Kerberos, LDAP, and NTLM, with a track record of migrating environments away from legacy protocols.
• Experience implementing passwordless authentication strategies, including FIDO2, Windows Hello for Business, and certificate-based authentication via PKI.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory security assessment and hardening tools such as BloodHound, PingCastle, and Purple Knight for attack path analysis and security posture evaluation.
• Knowledge of service account governance, including Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA), and endpoint security tooling such as LAPS.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Terraform, DSC, and Microsoft Graph API for identity infrastructure automation, reporting, and configuration drift detection.
• Working knowledge of NIST, SOX, or other regulatory compliance frameworks as they relate to identity management and PKI governance.
• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
• Proven track record of building, mentoring, and managing high-performing identity engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, to include translating complex identity concepts for non-technical audiences and influence at all levels of the organization.

Expected annual base salary range:

$160,000 - $225,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. Leidos' Corporate Information Security Office, reporting through the Digital Modernization sector, is seeking an Information Technology Team Manager. This is a primarily hands-on technical role responsible for supporting and enhancing the enterprise IT environment across both Windows and Linux platforms with a focus on system reliability, performance, and security. The role includes leadership responsibilities involving team coordination, mentorship, and serving as the primary Information Technology (IT) decision maker. Primary Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux systems in a secure, stable, and scalable manner

• Mentor other engineers in the art of cybersecurity and secure software development practices.
• Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and implement long-term fixes
• Participate and remain active within the Change Control Board (CCB) process.

• Participates in internal/external security audits/inspections; performs risk assessments and Continuous Monitoring.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently hold Active TOP SECRET / SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree and 12 – 15 years related experience in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or a master’s with 6 – 10 years of related experience. Additional relevant experience, training, and / or certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.

Leidos is seeking a Search Engineer to support, enhance, and modernize our enterprise search platform for a Federal customer. This role is responsible for both software development and operations & maintenance of search applications and indexing pipelines built on Apache Solr, Flume, Spark, Linux, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS OpenSearch.

The engineer will ensure day-to-day reliability of indexing and retrieval services by addressing indexing failures, data issues, search syntax and relevance problems, performance degradation, vulnerability remediation, patching, and recurring maintenance activities. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise search, search platform support, information retrieval, or large-scale data systems.
• Hands-on experience supporting and enhancing enterprise search platforms such as Apache Solr, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Lucene, or similar technologies.
• Experience working in Linux production environments, including troubleshooting, configuration updates, and routine system support.

The Leidos Digital Modernization Group seeks a Data Engineering Specialist to support the Global Management System (GMS) Team for the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

The Federal Reserve has developed a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality, called the FedNow Service. This service enables financial institutions to provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. Interacts with internal project teams and work groups regularly. Level of work required is considered highly advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. Position Contributions-

What will be expected of you-

• Serves as a Principal Data Engineer: to design, develop and implement end-to-end data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution, supporting both batch and streaming workloads in accordance with FedNow and Fed Standards.

• Develops software solutions that are reusable, well-documented, and optimized for Analytics, BI, and AI/ML consumers. Implements and manages modern data lake and Lakehouse architectures, including Apache Iceberg table formats.

• Optimizes data platforms for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability. Collaborates closely with architects, product managers, analytics teams, and platform engineers to align data solutions with business needs.

• Defines and enforces data quality standards, implementing automated validation and monitoring.

• In addition to being able to engineer across numerous areas of technology, you’ll serve as subject matter expert in one or more areas

• Trains and consults cross functionally within the organization on troubleshooting/resolving highly complex and/or highly time critical problems

• Collaborates with analysts as part of an integrated Agile team to define user requirements and conduct design review for the development of complex and innovative cloud applications using modern internet-scale technologies and Serverless architecture in Cloud

• Demonstrates skill dexterity; seeking to continuously adapt and employ new technical skills alongside proven staples

• Ensures that the quality of software developed, maintained and enhanced in-house and installed into production is sufficient to prevent the occurrence of catastrophic defects that cause the customer significant problems, missed deadlines, or interruption to the production environment

• Ensure compliance with Fed policies, procedures and standards

• Provides primary or backup production support for applications and components, including but not limited to timely resolution to production problems and processing issues

Expertise you will bring-

• • 8+ years of implementing data-intensive solutions using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean etc).

• 4+ years working with AWS cloud-based platforms in an enterprise environment.

• Experience designing and building performant, resilient big data solutions.

• Deep expertise in programming languages used in data engineering such as Python and Java.

• Experience developing high performance, high volume, highly available

• (24/7/365) environments

• Experience with Agile software engineering (Scrum, Kanban, Lean etc)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,

Logistics& Requirements-

• Deep expertise in Python and Java and proficient knowledge of programming languages (JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS etc.)
• Proficient knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows)
• Proficient knowledge of database development (SQL, Oracle, DB2)
• Ideally, you’ll have experience with AWS services, and integrating them into an application
• Ideally you’ll have experience with leading edge Cloud technologies, such as Kafka, in-memory and NoSQL databases, messaging platforms, memcache etc).
• Demonstrates independent thinking and decision-making abilities
• Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication abilities
• Proficient knowledge of cloud security for application development and delivery
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Ideally, Infrastructure as Code (IAC); Terraform

Salary

The salary range for this position is $173,400.00 - $216,700.00 - $260,000.00. The Boston Fed believes in salary transparency. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data. The position and job description posted is for a Principal Software Engineer however, candidates will be placed in an appropriate level within the Software Engineer job family based on the extent of their experience. If you reside outside of the 1st District, you may be hired by your local Federal Reserve District and compensation will follow hiring District's range and policy.
