The Role
The Lab System Integration Engineering (LSIE) team is a part of a Central Engineering Resource Team supporting various battery, component, and propulsion test laboratories as well as vehicle garages in Pontiac, Warren and Milford, Michigan. This Battery Lab Systems Integration Engineering position will directly support the Global Battery Systems Lab (GBSL) and Wallace Battery Cell Innovation Center (WBCIC) at the Warren Technical Center Campus with the development and validation of current and future battery technologies within General Motors’ electrification portfolio along with enhancements to the lab infrastructure. This role will be primarily responsible for developing and validating test scripts and associated equipment drivers while meeting strict timing requirements. These scripts will replicate anything from a DC fast charge in the desert to driving across the Canadian tundra in the winter. We also integrate new test hardware into the test labs including some of the largest battery cyclers and shakers in North America. The tests run by the lab directly affect the quality, durability, and performance of electrified vehicles and related products developed by General Motors.
This role is a good fit for a qualified individual who is interested in state-of-the-art battery technologies and testing methods, system-level integration, and has a background in computer programming, data science, and test execution. This role offers practical, hands-on product and lab development experience in the growing field of vehicle electrification.
This position is based on site at the GM Global Technical Center and requires regular in-person presence
What You'll Do
- Develop and validate test scripts and associated equipment drivers while meeting strict timing requirements
- Work closely with product engineering teams to comprehend new product functionality to facilitate the development and implementation of methods for integration with test automation equipment and test scripts
- Provide troubleshooting support pertaining to the integration of test scripts, lab equipment, and products being tested
- Ensure test data generation, delivery, and storage methods are appropriate to meet or exceed quality standards and stakeholder expectations
- Interface with new battery packs to read key parameters such as voltages, temperatures, state of charge, and control electrical connections to lab hardware
- Support the lab’s physical networking capabilities by championing collaboration and projects with internal and external IT and test automation organizations
- Maintain awareness of testing equipment and methods and evaluate them for adoption, championing innovation projects to integrate new technologies
- Work in a collaborative, software release-oriented team atmosphere, actively participating in peer review of teammates’ test scripts and related projects
- Identify and engage in continuous improvement projects aimed at maturing existing testing methods, including a push to increase efficiency while maintaining commonality across multiple test stands
- Support weekend and off-shift needs as required
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline
- 2+ years of software development experience
- Experience in a testing lab environment working with general hardware tools, including tools like, microcontrollers, battery cyclers, power suppliers etc
- Demonstrated proficiency in a high-level programming language, e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, Python, MATLAB
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement algorithms to automate tasks
- Understanding of electrical hardware and ability to interpret electrical drawings
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a complex environment, managing multiple projects by establishing priorities and deliverables with minimal supervision

The Role
The Occupant Thermal Comfort (OTC) Feature Owner (FO) is responsible for defining the strategy, methodology, and end‑to‑end requirements for the OTC feature across both hardware and software solutions. Serving as the corporate subject matter expert, this role leads the development and validation of feature requirements to ensure an exceptional customer experience while meeting robustness, safety, and regulatory standards. Highly collaborative by design, the FO partners across the organization to deploy new and existing technologies, balancing design, performance, and energy efficiency to deliver against customer and vehicle program expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME), owning the full lifecycle of the Occupant Thermal Comfort (OTC) feature—from customer experience and requirements definition through design, testing, launch, and field performance
- Define and develop Feature Technical Specifications (FTS) for OTC systems
- Develop Feature/System FMEAs and allocate identified failure modes appropriately
- Define and execute Testable Functional Rollout Plans (TFRP) and PAR assessments
- Own and maintain the OTC/CTEM Feature System Roadmap
- Partner with the system safety team to support Potential Hazard Analysis (PHA) and cascade hazard levels and failure modes through F/S‑FMEA
- Ensure all required feature development and approval gates are met (e.g., Feature Initiation Approval, Feature Rollout Plans, Peer Reviews)
- Lead and conduct functional readiness reviews
- Collaborate across engineering and functional domains to ensure integration‑driven requirements are met within other feature areas
- Support Advanced Technical Work (ATW) project scoping and ensure alignment across the organization
- Lead competitive benchmarking efforts and remain current on emerging technologies and industry trends applicable to the feature
- Provide technical feature leadership throughout all phases of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP) to ensure robust execution and performance
- Partner with Validation Engineers and systems teams to achieve feature verification and validation signoff
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in thermal, systems engineering, and/or energy engineering disciplines
- Strong understanding of systems development, verification, validation, and vehicle manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage work effectively with limited direction
- DFSS Black Belt certification

System Engineers are responsible for partitioning and allocating product, feature and system functionality to implementation teams. The Senior Systems Engineer in IT Communications is responsible for the end-to-end technical health, designing, configuration, and lifecycle management of key robust communications platforms, including GM’s Brand Experience platform, Heritage Archive, and related survey/polling and search applications. This role serves as innovation owner for multiple applications, ensuring they remain secure, compliant, stable, and aligned with GM’s long-term technology roadmap (e.g., cloud migration and NextGen hosting strategies).
The Role
You will act as the technical expert for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)–based sites and adjacent services, driving infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, incident resolution, and continuous improvement in partnership with architecture, platform engineering, vendors, and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
Platform Ownership & Configuration
- Own the technical configuration and operational readiness of core communications applications such as GM Brand Experience (GMBX), GMBX Cloud, GM Heritage Archive (GMHA), and custom polling/survey tools.
- Configure and maintain web, application, and integration components that support global news and brand sites, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including server inventories, topology diagrams, and configuration details across environments (Dev, Test, PreProd, Prod).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively determine IT System Requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
Application Lifecycle & Tech Fitness
- Lead OS, middleware, and platform upgrades (e.g., Linux/Ubuntu, JDK, AEM versions) to keep applications compliant with GM tech standards and security requirements.
- Drive remediation of vulnerabilities and patching issues by partnering with infrastructure teams, tracking status, and validating successful remediation.
- Ensure application health metrics and “star” ratings are maintained through proactive monitoring, clean-up activities, and periodic technical reviews.
Cloud Migration & NextGen Hosting
- Contribute to defining and executing the NextGen and cloud strategy for communications applications, including on-prem to cloud migrations and SaaS adoption.
- Collaborate with platform and vendor teams (e.g., Adobe, Red Hat, GM hosting teams) to validate support models, define deployment destinations, and plan go-live timelines.
- Coordinate and support smoke testing and UAT in PreProd and other non-prod environments to validate migration outcomes.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Act as primary technical contact for incidents and service requests involving communications applications, driving timely triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
- Manage and execute configuration changes (e.g., firewall rules, web server updates, DNS/caching/404 behavior, queue configuration) through GM’s change and request processes (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
- Document and communicate incident impact, remediation steps, and preventive actions to stakeholders.
- Perform Deployment Validation for new and updated systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
Collaboration, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Partner closely with business owners, UAT leads, and communications stakeholders to understand requirements, plan deployments, and validate changes.
- Engage architecture, platform engineering, and PE resources to align application design and changes to GM standards and reference architectures.
- Advocate for improvements in internal tools, processes, and documentation; surface systemic issues and work with owners to resolve them.
- Contribute to governance of the communications application landscape, including application services data, service offerings, and integration points.
- Conduct thorough Capacity Planning to ensure IT resources meet current and future business demands, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks.
Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor less experienced engineers and configurators by pairing on upgrades, migrations, and complex incidents.
- Share domain knowledge on AEM, communications platforms, and hosting patterns through documentation, walkthroughs, and informal coaching.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Design Engineer to join our team, focused on developing best-in-class automotive Digital Key systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system architecture, schematic design, and multi-layer PCB layout, particularly for systems involving BLE and UWB technology.
The Role:
The Staff Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the schematic design, PCB layout, function/performance validation, and issue resolution, of hardware components and systems that support Digital Key technologies across all GM vehicles and architectures. This role is tightly coupled to cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration, product managers, and system engineers, to create secure and reliable Digital Key solutions and assist in defining future technology roadmaps and resolution of issues that arise throughout development and production.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Create and manage schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs to ensure reliable and high-performance hardware designs.
- Design and develop complex multi-layer PCB layouts for high-density designs, with a focus on signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design specifications and ensure they align with system requirements.

In this role, the Senior Hardware Design Engineer will be supporting the technical design & development of the propulsion controller hardware for GM’s next generation vehicles. The role requires an experienced professional with a background in automotive ECU architecture, design, and analysis, and a proven ability of successfully launching ECU’s into production.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background and a proven track record in electrical schematic design, performing controller validation/testing, manufacturing knowledge, warranty analysis, and instrumentation design. You will work with cross-functional teams (Semiconductor, DREs, GM software, PCB layout, Mechanical Engineering, Supplier, Validation, Quality) to deliver quality product on time.
What You'll Do:
- Design of propulsion controller electrical hardware: from schematic capture, worst case analysis, PCB layout, bring-up, debug, signal integrity and power integrity (SI/PI), design verification test (environmental and EMC), to manufacturing support and production launch
- Design and development of the propulsion controller hardware (from concept design to launch) while meeting cost, timing, quality, and safety targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as software, mechanical, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of the electrical design of the propulsion controller hardware
- Work closely with contract manufacturing partners to ensure successful product build, from prototype through to mass production, while maintaining quality, cost, and timing targets

The Role:
As an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Scientist, you’ll be part of a team that is pioneering the integration of simulation, automation, AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and machine learning into critical systems for vehicle design, calibration, and performance. You will work cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, simulation specialists, domain experts and platform teams to define and execute high-impact AI/ML initiatives. Your role will blend hands-on development, technical direction-setting, and mentorship, helping GM scale next-generation capabilities.
What You’ll Do:

Lead and/or support the integration of AI/ML into core engineering tools and simulation frameworks, ensuring robustness, interpretability, and physical relevance of outputs.

Translate complex engineering needs into actionable AI/ML solutions, balancing innovation with stability and traceability.

Use data analytics and signal processing to analyze simulation output data

Develop custom feature extraction methods for predictive modeling - used in optimizations.

Apply statistical methods, ML, Big data analytics, anomaly detection methods, and clustering to uncover patterns

Lead and/or support the development and maintenance of cloud and/or on-prem databases.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
