Staff Software Engineer, AI Agents

Seattle, Washington, United States; Austin, Texas, United States Posted 1 day ago

$209100 - $282900

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join Arm and help shape the future of developer productivity and agentic software workflows. This role sits within the Developer Engagement group and will focus on building and evolving Arm’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) server to support a wide range of developer use cases.

You will work at the intersection of AI agents, developer tools, and Arm platforms, helping define how modern agentic systems interact with Arm-based software, services, and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who closely follows and experiments with new developments in the AI tooling ecosystem, translating emerging ideas, agent frameworks, tool calling, and prompt design, into scalable, production-ready developer solutions.

Our team works on software development methodologies, educational content, example software, and development tools. Our top priority is ensuring that developers can successfully adopt Arm technology. You will engage directly with developers, understand their workflows, and design MCP-based solutions that integrate seamlessly into AI-assisted development environments.

We work across multiple computing segments, including servers and cloud, mobile, laptops, and embedded systems. As part of a small, dynamic team, you will build and prototype scalable solutions and drive developer enablement and technical advocacy across the Arm ecosystem. The most important requirement is curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for new technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and evolve Arm's MCP server, enabling AI agents and tools to interact effectively with Arm software, platforms, and services
  • Define MCP integrations and developer use cases, including agentic workflows, tool invocation, retrieval-augmented systems, and prompt-driven automation
  • Work closely with developers, customers, and partners to understand real-world AI and tooling needs, translating them into practical agentic solutions
  • Prototype and demonstrate agentic developer experiences that showcase Arm technology in AI-assisted workflows
  • Create technical marketing materials such as blogs, demos, conference talks, and videos that highlight MCP use cases and agentic tooling on Arm
  • Help define best practices for prompt design, tool schemas, and agent orchestration in the context of Arm platforms

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS/MSc) in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) or MCP server integrations.
  • Experience designing and building APIs or services that support AI workflows, including tool invocation, context exchange, or agent integration patterns.
  • Comfortable with software development on Linux and programming experience in Python or C++

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

  • Ability to work in a geographically diverse and distributed team
  • Genuine curiosity about new technology and solving developer problems
  • Experience building RAG-based systems, including vector databases.

Salary Range:

$209,100-$282,900 per year
